2027: APM Picks Grace Coker as Lagos Deputy Governorship Candidate

The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has selected Grace Oluwatobi Coker as its deputy governorship candidate for the 2027 Lagos State governorship election.

Her nomination was confirmed on Saturday, making her the running mate to the party’s governorship candidate, Prince Laja Adeoye, as the party steps up preparations for the next general election.

Following her emergence, Coker described her nomination as both an honour and a major responsibility. She expressed appreciation to God, the leadership of the APM, party members, supporters and residents of Lagos State for the confidence placed in her.

She also thanked Adeoye for choosing her as his running mate and described him as a leader and mentor. Coker said she is ready to work closely with the governorship candidate to achieve the party’s goals and offer Lagos residents a different style of leadership.

The deputy governorship candidate pledged to support Adeoye throughout the campaign and work with him to secure victory for the APM in the 2027 governorship election.

Coker also appreciated party officials at the national, state, local government, ward and polling unit levels for their encouragement and support. She thanked other party stakeholders and candidates for standing with her during the nomination process.

She further acknowledged the efforts of the party’s campaign team, volunteers and supporters, saying their dedication and sacrifices would remain important as the election approaches.

Coker also expressed gratitude to her family, friends and associates for supporting her throughout her political journey. She gave special recognition to the people of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area, her home constituency, as well as residents across Lagos State, for their trust and encouragement.

She assured party members and supporters that she would remain committed to the APM and work with the party leadership to achieve success at the polls. According to her, the party is presenting Lagos residents with an alternative focused on responsible leadership, accountability, inclusion and sustainable development.

As preparations for the 2027 elections continue, Coker also prayed for wisdom and guidance for herself, the governorship candidate and the party leadership as they begin their campaign activities across the state.
