According to the vice president, Nigeria’s economy has recorded improvements in key areas since the reforms were introduced. He said the country’s foreign reserves have grown from a much lower level to more than 52 billion dollars, while capital inflows have also improved despite global economic uncertainty.

He said the administration remains focused on restoring confidence in the economy and creating conditions that will encourage more local and foreign investments.

Shettima also commended Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo for supporting the Federal Government’s reform agenda. He recalled that Soludo defended the administration’s economic direction even when the position was unpopular during the 2023 election period.

The vice president said Soludo believed that elections should be decided through support from the people rather than intimidation or political pressure. He added that the governor had consistently explained the economic situation inherited by the present administration and the need for difficult reforms.

Shettima assured investors that the Federal Government would continue working with state governments to improve the business environment across the country. He said efforts are ongoing to remove barriers affecting businesses and encourage more investments that will create jobs and support economic growth.

He added that the Tinubu administration remains committed to policies aimed at strengthening the economy and providing a stable environment for investors and businesses operating in Nigeria.
