2027: APC ready to win Lagos – Sanwo-Olu declares

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress is well prepared to secure victory across Lagos State in the 2027 general elections.

Sanwo-Olu made this known on Monday after visiting the APC presidential and governorship campaign offices in Lagos to assess the party’s preparations for the elections.

The governor said the campaign committee had already started planning for the polls and was working on strategies aimed at helping the party retain its strong position across the state.

He noted that President Bola Tinubu, who is seeking re-election under the APC, as well as the party’s Lagos governorship candidate, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, and other candidates were committed to the campaign.

Sanwo-Olu said the party’s campaign team was working on its plans for the election and preparing to take its message to voters across Lagos.
He said the level of dedication shown by APC members had given him more confidence in the party’s chances ahead of the 2027 polls.

The governor also said the APC remained united around its electoral plans and was determined to build on its existing political structure in Lagos.
He expressed satisfaction with the energy among party members and said their commitment showed that the party was prepared for the campaign ahead.

Sanwo-Olu further stated that the APC would combine its campaign activities with its development plans for Lagos, promising that the party would continue working towards the progress of the state.

The governor’s declaration comes as political parties across Nigeria intensify preparations for the 2027 general elections, with candidates and campaign teams beginning to organise their structures ahead of the polls.

In Lagos, the APC is seeking to maintain its long-standing control of the state while also securing support for Tinubu’s re-election bid and the party’s candidates for other elective positions.
