2027: ADC Warns APC, Says It’s Ready for Election Battle

The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has said it is prepared to defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in the 2027 general elections, provided the electoral process allows voters to freely choose their leaders.

The ADC National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, made this known during an interview with Symfoni TV while discussing the party’s chances against the APC in the forthcoming election.

Abdullahi said the ADC was confident of victory in a credible election, but expressed concern about the possibility of attempts to manipulate the process.

He said the party was preparing for different situations and would not be caught off guard during the election.

According to him, the ADC understands the political strength of the ruling party and the challenges that opposition parties could face during an election. He said the party was therefore making plans to protect its votes from the polling unit to the final stage of the electoral process.

Abdullahi said ADC members and supporters would closely monitor the voting process and take steps to ensure that votes cast for the party were properly protected and counted.

He maintained that the party’s confidence was based on its belief that Nigerians were looking for an alternative to the current political leadership.

The ADC spokesperson also said the party was not relying only on the hope of a free election but was preparing for possible challenges that could arise before, during and after the polls.

He added that the party had studied the political environment and understood that winning an election required more than presenting candidates and campaigning across the country.

Abdullahi said the ADC would therefore remain vigilant throughout the electoral process and ensure that its agents and supporters were prepared to respond to developments at polling units and during the collation of results.

The 2027 presidential election is expected to be a major contest between the APC and several opposition parties seeking to challenge the ruling party.

The ADC has positioned itself as one of the major opposition platforms ahead of the election, with its leaders expressing confidence that the party can attract voters seeking a change in government.

Abdullahi’s comments come amid growing political activities and concerns over the credibility and security of the 2027 elections.

He maintained that the ADC would continue preparing for the contest and would not allow itself to be intimidated by the political advantage enjoyed by the ruling APC.
