2027: NNPP Denies being part of G-100 Coalition

The New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, has denied being part of the G-100 coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections, saying it is still consulting on its political direction.

The National Chairman of the party, Agbo Major, made this known on Sunday during an interview with Arise Television, where he explained the party’s position on the emerging political coalition.

Major said the NNPP had initially presented a presidential candidate for the 2027 election but later withdrew the candidate due to logistical and administrative difficulties.

He explained that the party’s decision to remain without a presidential candidate was also linked to ongoing discussions with other political parties and groups.

According to him, the NNPP is still examining the available political options and is expected to meet soon to decide on its next move ahead of the 2027 elections.

The party chairman said the NNPP was not involved in the G-100 coalition, adding that the group was still an experiment whose success would depend on how its members manage their differences.

He said the NNPP was watching developments within the coalition and would assess its impact before making any decision on whether to work with other political groups.

Major also pointed to the challenge of choosing a presidential candidate in any possible alliance involving several political parties.

He said the main issue would be determining which candidate would step aside if the parties eventually decide to work together under one platform.

The NNPP chairman noted that the party was still relatively young compared with some of the political groups and individuals involved in the discussions.

He said the party would continue its consultations before taking a final position on its participation in any alliance ahead of the 2027 general elections.
