The All Progressives Congress (APC) North-West Zone has announced plans to begin a mobilisation tour across the seven states in the region as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The decision was reached during a meeting of the party’s zonal leadership held at its headquarters in Kaduna. The exercise is aimed at strengthening the party’s structures, increasing support for President Bola Tinubu’s second-term bid, and ensuring the APC maintains its political strength in the North-West.
The meeting was chaired by the APC North-West Zonal Secretary, Isah Achida, who presided in the absence of the National Vice Chairman for the zone, Garba Datti, said to be away on official duty. The outcome of the meeting was later made public in a statement issued by the party’s Zonal Publicity Secretary, Musa Mada.
According to the party, the North-West remains one of its strongest political regions after delivering one of the highest vote totals for Tinubu during the 2023 presidential election. The leadership said it believes the region can produce even better results in 2027 through early planning, wider consultation and stronger grassroots engagement.
As part of the strategy, party officials will visit Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Jigawa, Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara states to meet with leaders, stakeholders and members. The planned visits are expected to focus on strengthening party unity, improving local structures and preparing members for the next general election.
The APC also noted that the North-West is now entirely under its control, with all seven states governed by the party. It described the development as a rare opportunity to build a stronger political base and improve cooperation among leaders across the region.
The zonal leadership also appreciated Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani for donating a utility vehicle to the APC North-West Zonal Secretariat. The party said the donation would support its activities and improve operations within the region.
In addition, the APC commended governors from the North-West for their continued support of the zonal secretariat. It also acknowledged the contributions of Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, ministers and other political office holders from the region for backing both the Tinubu administration and the party.
The leadership urged party members and elected officials to continue working together as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum. It maintained that sustained mobilisation and unity would play a major role in securing victory for the APC and President Tinubu in the next presidential election.
