PHOTOS: Ekiti PDP Chairman Gives APC Red Card As New Exco Assumes Office

The newly elected Ekiti State Peoples Democratic Party Working Committee members have assumed office, with the Chairman, Hon. Bisi Kolawole giving the All Progressives Congress (APC) red card for performing woefully.

The party executives led by its Chairman, Otunba Bisi Kolawole took over proceedings at the party’s Ajilosun Secretariat on Monday, after a rousing welcome by party faithful.

Addressing party supporters after the members were conducted round the offices by the admin staff, the chairman thanked members for giving the new exco opportunity to serve at this time.

Kolawole assured Ekiti PDP members that his team was determined more than ever before to take over the state’s mantle of leadership from the “docile usurper presently occupying space at the Oke Bareke Governor’s office.”

Calling on Ekiti people to disregard insinuations that cracks exist in Ekiti PDP, the Chairman stressed that the party in Ekiti remained one as the present exco will do all that is necessary to assuage frayed nerves and bring all stakeholders on board to return PDP to its place of pride.

“There will always be disagreements and reconciliations as far as party issues are concerned. But by the grace of God, we will reconcile the reconcile-ables, we’ll call our members who strayed, we’ll come together, revisit issues and fashion a way forward,” Kolawole said.

Assuring Ekiti people that his administration will run a virile and potent opposition, Kolawole said PDP at the tail end of the last administration lost its voice.

“We have been in government and we are aware of the happenings, in Ekiti today, there is dormancy, the ruling party is lethargy and lackadaisical, even members of their party are not happy with their government talkless of the opposition.

“We have a very solid publicity setting, this is not a set of people that will compromise, we didn’t have a voice in the last exco because they compromised, we had to push them to talk, they talked reluctantly, we are here to speak in defence of the downtrodden Ekiti people and trust me, our State will be better for it,” Kolawole said.
