The Director General of the National Taskforce has been praised for his transparent in handling of affairs of the agency, regarding to employment.
Beneficiaries, in separate interview with select journalists expressed surprise that they got employment despite not knowing any godfather as has been the culture in Nigeria.
One, Miss Bisi Bayo who said she is from Oyo State said: “Dr. Baba Mohammed gave us employment and even transport fare. We were three in number that day to collect our letters.”
Journalists who were at NATFORCE office to monitor developments on Monday, also met two other young men who identified themselves as John Ogohi Audu, and Mohammed Musapha from Mubi in Adamawa State. They also testified to the magnanimity of the new Director General.
Mustapha Mohammed said: “I thank God that I got this job despite not knowing the DG, Alhaji Baba Mohammed, or anyone else. Though, it’s was pretty difficult seeing him, but in the course of trying to see him, I was asked to submit my Curriculum Vitae, which I did and the next time, I was called for interview and screening.
“I was asked to go to Yola office for documentation, which the Director General personally offered me money for transport and feeding.”
“I can tell you that many others got employed without knowing anybody here,” he further explained.
In the words of John Ogohi Audu, “I subjected to thorough screening by the management team.
“They did my background checks and asked if I knew anybody to which I said no.
” After the letter of employment was given to me, I did my documentation immediately and was happy being rescued from the labour market.”
He admitted that the entire exercise was strictly based on merit.”
