In the spirit of Eid-El-Kabir, the Akwa Ibom State government, Wednesday morning hosted leaders of the Muslim community in the State.

The Governor, Pastor Umo Eno use the occasion to highlight the significance of Eid-El-Kabir, saying it is a feast of sacrifice which signifies obedience and submission to the will of God.

Speaking through the Deputy Governor, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, Pastor Eno acknowledged the contributions of members of the Muslim community to the socio-economic development of Akwa Ibom State.

He also expressed appreciation to the Community on their support to him in the last elections.

In his remarks, the Chairman, Arewa Community in Akwa Ibom State, Mr Emmanuel Ogbole described the Governor as a man of his word and thanked him for identifying with the Muslim community in the State during the Sallah.

The highpoint of the event was the donation of various gift items including bags of rice, rams, cows among others, to the community to share in the spirit of the season.

The event was attended by the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah and other officials of government.
