RCCG City of David Parish blacklisted, excluded from Wigwes’ funeral programme

City of David, Victoria Island, Lagos, the upscale Parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), where Herbert Wigwe, the former Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of Access Holdings Plc, and his wife Chizoba worshipped until their tragic death, has been excluded from their funeral programme.

In the original programme published by News Express on February 23, City of David Parish was indicated as the venue for an Evening Service of Songs for the Wigwes on Wednesday March 6.

However, in the revised programme just released by the Wigwe Family, City of David Parish is conspicuously missing – replaced with RCCG, Resurrection Parish, Lekki, Lagos.

This comes on the heels of the uproar that greeted the lavish 60th birthday party held at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island Lagos, on Sunday, February 18, by Siju Iluyomade, wife of the Senior Pastor of RCCG, City of David, Idowu Iluyomade. The party was graced by distinguished guests, including billionaires and monarchs, who were thrilled by music star Flavour N’abania. The party sparked outrage on social media, with many commentators alleging that the Iluyomades had failed to sufficiently mourn the Wigwes, who were prominent member of their church, and their first son, Chizi – all of whom died in a February 9 chopper crash in the US alongside former group chairman of Nigerian Exchange Group Plc (NGX Group), Abimbola Ogunbanjo.

Just like in the programme earlier published by News Express, the revised prgramme indicates that the funeral of Wigwes will climax at their home Parish, RCCG, Lion of Judah, in Isiokpo, Rivers State.
