The new caretaker chairman, Dr. Ben Nwoye, revealed that Governor Mbah’s defection will not be a solo move, as he will be joined by members of the State Executive Council, the 24 members of the State House of Assembly, National Assembly members, and 260 ward councillors across Enugu State.

Earlier this week, the APC National Working Committee dissolved the existing Enugu State Executive Committee to pave the way for Mbah’s official entry into the party.

Professor Yilwatda, while addressing the new caretaker members, urged them to rebuild and expand the party’s structure while maintaining unity and fairness among members.

He reminded them that as preparations for the 2027 elections begin, their main task is to grow the party and ensure victory through teamwork and inclusiveness.

The APC leadership expressed confidence that the governor’s defection would boost the party’s chances in future elections and strengthen its presence in the South-East region.
