Adamawa Electoral Commissioner Vokna Resigns

The Commissioner of the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC), Suleiman Yahaya Vokna, has stepped down from his position to focus on personal pursuits.Vokna made his decision public in a statement released to the press on Friday, October 18, 2025.

He stated that his resignation took effect on October 17, 2025.According to Vokna, the decision to leave his role was made after careful reflection. He said it was time to move on to other areas of interest that matter most to him.

During his time with the Commission, Vokna said he worked with honesty and fairness to support the credibility of the state’s electoral process. He also appreciated the Adamawa State Governor for the opportunity to serve and expressed gratitude to his colleagues for their cooperation and professionalism throughout his tenure.

Vokna also wished the Governor, the state government, and the staff of ADSIEC continued progress as they carry out their duties in strengthening democracy in the state.

His resignation marks the end of his service in the Adamawa electoral body, where he played a key role in election-related activities and administrative duties.
