Jonathan’s Ex-Aide Defects to APC from PDP

Dr. Waripamo-Owei Dudafa, who once served as Senior Special Assistant on Domestic Matters and Social Events to former President Goodluck Jonathan, has officially left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Dudafa, a former member of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, made the announcement on Saturday in Yenagoa through a public statement.

His resignation letter, addressed to the chairman of the PDP in Southern Opokuma/Ayibabiri Ward 8, Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area, explained that the decision came after a long period of personal reflection and consultation with his family, political associates, and supporters.

He stated that his exit from the PDP followed growing internal disagreements within the party, especially at the national level, which had made it difficult for members to work together and pursue common goals. According to him, the divisions within the PDP created a tense atmosphere that no longer aligned with his political ideals or the progress of his people.

Dudafa said he decided to move to the APC because he believes the party provides a better platform to unite citizens and address the pressing challenges facing Bayelsa State.

He expressed his readiness to work with members of the APC in promoting development and good governance.

While appreciating the PDP for the experiences and relationships built during his years in the party, he extended his best wishes to the leadership and members as they navigate through their internal issues.

Political observers believe Dudafa’s defection could influence upcoming political realignments in Bayelsa and possibly shape future developments at the national level.
