Radda Reshuffles Cabinet, Appoints New Commissioners and Agency Heads in Katsina

Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, has made major changes to his cabinet and appointed new heads for several government agencies as part of efforts to strengthen his administration for better governance and service delivery.

The cabinet reshuffle, announced on Thursday by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Mohammed, affected several ministries and also introduced two new special advisers.

Adnan Nahabu was appointed as the Commissioner for Higher, Vocational, and Technical Education, while Professor Ahmad Bakori, who previously led the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, was reassigned to the newly created Ministry of Livestock Development.

Aliyu Zakari was moved from the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development to head the Ministry of Agriculture, while Zainab Musa Musawa was transferred from the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education to the Ministry of Special Duties.

Yusuf Jibia is now the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, and Surajo Abukur has been appointed Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development. In addition, Aisha Aminu, the former Director-General of the Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency, is now the Commissioner for Women Affairs.

The governor also named Hadiza Yar’adua as Special Adviser on Nutrition and Welfare Services and Isa Musa as Special Adviser on Cultural Orientation.In a separate announcement, new appointments were made to lead key state agencies, including the Katsina State Road Maintenance Agency (KASROMA) the Enterprise Development Agency (KASEDA), the Civil Service Commission, and the Pension Bureau.

Abba Junaidu was appointed Chairman of KASROMA, bringing with him a strong background in civil engineering and public works. Babangida Ruma, known for his work in youth development and technology, is now the Director-General of KASEDA.

Idris Tune, a former Head of Service with a long career in public administration, was appointed Chairman of the Civil Service Commission. The Pension Bureau was also reorganized, with Ibrahim Dutsinma as Part-Time Chairman and Musa Rabiu Mahuta as Executive Director of Finance and Administration.

Other members of the Pension Bureau include Abbati Masanawa as Executive Director of Operations, Usman Shehu as Executive Director of ICT and Database Management, and Faruk Aminu as Independent Observer.

For the State and Local Government Pension Transition Board, Muntari Dan Ammani was appointed Executive Secretary, while Garba Mani will serve as Part-Time Chairman.

Governor Radda urged the newly appointed and redeployed officials to align with his administration’s “Building Your Future” agenda and work with renewed dedication to improve service delivery across all sectors, including education, health, agriculture, youth development, and women empowerment.
