The Oyo State High Court in Ibadan has once again postponed the hearing of the case challenging the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) planned National Convention. Justice Ladiran Akintola adjourned the matter to Wednesday, November 12, 2025, following submissions from both parties’ legal representatives.

The suit, filed by Folahan Malomo Adelabi against the PDP, its Acting National Chairman Umar Iliya Damagum, Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), seeks to prevent any actions that could hinder or disrupt the party’s convention.

Previously, the court granted the PDP permission to proceed with preparations for the convention while mandating adherence to its official timetable and guidelines. On Monday, Justice Akintola directed all parties to exchange their legal documents before the next sitting to ensure a smooth hearing process.

Meanwhile, heavy security was deployed around the court premises, and journalists were reportedly denied access to the courtroom, raising concerns about the tension surrounding the case.
