Over 1,600 supporters of the All Progressives Congress in Limawa ward, Dutse Local Government Area of Jigawa State, left the ruling party and joined the Peoples Democratic Party during a rally held on Friday. The event drew a large crowd, with many youths, men, and women arriving with PDP flags and showing support for their new political direction.

The defectors said they were unhappy with the APC due to failed promises, poor road conditions, rising youth unemployment, and lack of visible development in their communities. They stated that their decision was based on the belief that they had been neglected for too long and wanted a fresh political path that they believed could better serve their needs.

Leaders of the PDP in the state received the new members and described the development as a boost for the party’s presence in the area. They urged the defectors to remain united and work together to grow the party across Jigawa State. They also expressed confidence that the movement would encourage more people to join the PDP.
