Members of the Peoples Democratic Party from all 17 local government areas of Plateau State gathered in Jos on Monday to call on Governor Caleb Mutfwang to leave the PDP and join the All Progressives Congress. The rally took place at the State Secretariat Junction and drew several known party figures, including a former PDP chairman in Jos South, Dung Tari.

The group, led by Christopher Danjem, said their call was based on their view that the governor could better serve the state by aligning with the APC at the federal level. They argued that the state would benefit more if the governor worked closely with the current administration in Abuja.

Danjem told the crowd that the governor’s work in Plateau State had earned him their support, adding that they believed moving to the APC would help attract more projects from the Federal Government. He also noted that President Bola Tinubu had shown concern for Plateau residents, especially during recent attacks, when the First Lady visited the state to offer support.

After the rally, the group moved to the Rayfield Government House to reinforce their message. The visit marked the end of the day’s activities as they waited for the governor’s response to their appeal.
