The congress produced 1,660 delegates who will choose the APC governorship candidate on December 13. Each of the 332 wards in Osun elected five delegates during the congress, which party officials said ran peacefully. The results were presented at the APC state secretariat after the exercise concluded.

In a statement released by the party’s Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, the committee explained that it is available to handle petitions from members who may be unsatisfied with the conduct of the congress. The five-man team, chaired by Kani Abubakar, a former House of Representatives member from Bauchi State, set up its sitting at the APC secretariat in Osogbo.

The chairman said the committee was in the state to observe, monitor, and attend to issues connected to the congress in line with the Nigerian Constitution, the APC Constitution, and the party’s electoral rules. The team opened its doors from morning to evening to allow members to submit petitions, although none had been received as of the time of the statement.

He explained that the committee would remain at its duty post until the scheduled closing time, giving room for any member with concerns to come forward before the window for complaints closes.
