Tragedy on Gombe-Yola Highway: Seven Journalists Killed in Crash

Seven members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) lost their lives in a road accident on the Gombe–Yola highway, while four others were injured. The incident involved a vehicle owned by the NUJ Gombe State Council and occurred on Saturday as the journalists were traveling from Gombe to Yola in Adamawa State.
Reports indicate that the journalists were returning from a wedding ceremony in the Gombe South Senatorial District. The vehicle was severely damaged in the crash, with photographs showing extensive destruction, highlighting the seriousness of the accident. The four injured journalists were taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
