Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has instructed all 18 local government chairmen in the state to set up 360 campaign billboards promoting President Bola Tinubu’s re-election. The directive was given on Friday, January 30, 2026, during the inauguration of the Edo State chapter of the National Renewed Hope Initiative, a movement formed to support Tinubu’s policies and agenda across Nigeria.
Under the governor’s order, each local government is expected to erect 20 billboards to carry the message of Tinubu’s administration to local communities, religious institutions, churches, and mosques. Okpebholo said the campaign aims to ensure that the President’s achievements and ongoing reforms reach grassroots citizens. He also expressed confidence that Edo residents, including youth and older citizens, are ready to mobilize support for Tinubu’s second term.
The governor praised the President for reforms in areas such as petroleum, security, education, and the economy, adding that the administration’s actions have started transforming the country. Okpebholo stressed that the campaign would rely on mobilization and community engagement, and noted that Edo people must deliver votes as promised in support of Tinubu’s re-election.
During the event, the Edo State Coordinator of the National Renewed Hope Initiative, Sylvester Aigboboh, inaugurated senatorial, local government, and youth coordinators for the 2027 campaign. He urged the newly appointed ambassadors to carry the campaign message to the grassroots, promoting the policies and achievements of the President while strengthening party outreach.
The initiative also aims to foster unity within the All Progressives Congress, with the appointed coordinators serving as links between the government, party leadership, and local communities. Three senatorial leaders—Joshua Uwagboe, Hon. Odinose Okojie, and Hon. Abdul Lawani—will coordinate activities across Edo South, Central, and North, respectively. Eighteen coordinators will oversee the 18 local government areas, with three youth leaders also appointed to support the campaign.
The inauguration marks the official start of a people-driven effort to strengthen Tinubu’s campaign in Edo State and ensure the President’s policies reach all citizens ahead of the 2027 general elections.
