PDP National Chairman Calls for Action as Board of Trustees Meets in Abuja

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Caretaker Committee, Hon. Abdulrahman Mohammed, welcomed members of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT) to a meeting held on Monday, February 2, 2026, in the nation’s capital. The gathering brought together party elders and leaders to review progress and discuss the way forward for the party.
Mohammed expressed gratitude to the BoT members for their continued support and commitment to the party, acknowledging the responsibilities they carry in guiding and stabilizing the PDP. He also appreciated the backing of the FCT Minister and other party leaders who have remained engaged during critical periods for the party.
With the holiday period concluded, the chairman called on members to focus on the work ahead, noting that the party must now move forward with planned activities, particularly in states where congresses are yet to be concluded. These congresses, he explained, will pave the way for a smooth National Convention.
The chairman reaffirmed the party’s commitment to upholding the law following the declaratory judgment by the Ibadan High Court in favor of the PDP’s Caretaker Committee. He said the party will continue to pursue justice and ensure that internal processes are conducted according to established rules.
Mohammed also highlighted the strength of the PDP as a party built on structured systems, national coherence, and a legacy of public service. He called on all stakeholders to remain engaged and supportive, stressing that the party must remain active and unified to fulfill its mandate to the people.
The meeting concluded with the chairman thanking all members for their dedication and pledging to continue working with stakeholders to strengthen the party’s structures and prepare for upcoming national activities.
