Tinubu Meets APC Leaders in Abuja
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday met with top leaders of the All Progressives Congress at the Presidential Villa in Abuja to discuss how the party is preparing for its upcoming convention and congresses and how to keep unity within its ranks.
The meeting involved the party’s national officers, APC governors, and leading members of the National Assembly. It was held to review plans for party activities and to ensure cooperation between the federal government, state governments, the legislature, and the party structure.
Among those present were Senate President Godswill Akpabio; Kwara State Governor and Chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq; Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, Hope Uzodimma; Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin; House of Representatives Majority Leader, Julius Ihonvbere; Chief Whip of the House, Usman Bello Kumo; Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; and APC National Secretary, Ajibola Bashiru.
After the meeting, APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, said the discussions were focused on bringing everyone involved in governance and party affairs onto the same path as preparations move forward. He explained that the party wanted close cooperation between its national leaders, governors, lawmakers, and grassroots structures.
Yilwatda noted that the APC has continued to attract new members, including governors and legislators from other parties, and said the leadership wants to make sure no group or individual feels excluded as the party grows.
He also described President Tinubu as a seasoned political leader whose guidance continues to shape the party’s direction and strengthen its internal organization as it prepares for future activities.
