Tinubu Condemns Plateau, Kaduna Killings, Orders Action

President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday in Abuja reacted to deadly attacks in parts of Plateau State and Kaduna State, where gunmen killed several people and abducted others in communities including Jos and Kagarko.

He described the incidents as cruel acts carried out against unarmed residents and assured that those responsible would face justice.

The attacks took place in Angwan Rukuba area of Jos and Kahir village in Kagarko Local Government Area, leaving many families in grief and others displaced. Some of the victims in Kaduna were said to be attending a wedding when the attackers struck, causing panic and injuries alongside the deaths.

The President directed security agencies to step up their operations, track the attackers, and prevent further violence. He also warned against the spread of false or misleading information that could worsen tensions, especially claims linking the attacks to religious causes. He stressed that security forces are already working to contain the situation and restore calm.

He called for better use of intelligence to stop future attacks and urged immediate rescue efforts for those abducted. He also acknowledged the roles played by Caleb Mutfwang and Uba Sani in responding to the incidents and supporting affected communities.

Tinubu extended condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and wished the injured quick recovery.

He added that the government is taking steps to improve the capacity of security agencies with better tools to respond quickly to threats and reduce similar attacks across the country.
