The development followed the unsealing of the PDP secretariat by police, which allowed the Wike-aligned leadership group to take control of the premises. Although security personnel were still seen around the building, renovation activities had already begun as of Sunday.

On Monday, workers were observed carrying out repairs ahead of the expected resumption of staff. Activities at the complex included repainting offices, replacing air conditioners, changing locks, and reallocating office spaces to members of the new leadership team.

A party source at the secretariat said that staff members had not yet resumed duties, but renovation work started earlier in the week. The source also noted that the changes in control of the building may affect the return of workers aligned with the rival leadership.

The faction led by Abdulrahman Mohammed had earlier announced the reopening of the PDP national secretariat and another party facility in Abuja, saying the action followed court directives. The group also assured that it was committed to maintaining order at the premises.

However, the opposing faction led by Tanimu Turaki rejected the move, describing it as a violation of court processes. It argued that the matter had already been taken to a higher court and that all parties had been duly informed.

The disagreement reflects the ongoing leadership dispute within the PDP, which has continued to split the party into rival groups over control of key structures.
