Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has moved the start date of his planned three-nation trip to Sunday instead of the earlier scheduled Saturday. The update was made public on Saturday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, through a post on social media.

The reason for the change in schedule was not disclosed, but the trip is still expected to go ahead as planned across the three countries. The president was initially set to depart Abuja on Saturday for official visits to France, Kenya and Rwanda.

According to earlier details, the trip will begin in France before moving to Nairobi, Kenya, where the president is expected to take part in the Africa-France Summit. The event is scheduled to hold from May 11 to May 12 and will be co-hosted by Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto. Discussions at the summit will focus on areas such as energy, digital development and climate-related issues.

After the Kenya engagement, Tinubu is expected to travel to Kigali, Rwanda, for the Africa CEO Forum, which will take place from May 14 to May 15. The forum is organised in collaboration with the International Finance Corporation and is expected to bring together business leaders and policymakers to discuss investment and economic growth across Africa.
During both events, the president is expected to speak on his administration’s policies and efforts aimed at improving the country’s economy and attracting investment. He is also expected to meet with business leaders and officials from different countries during the trip.
The president will be accompanied by some members of his cabinet and senior aides, and he is expected to return to Nigeria after completing the engagements in Rwanda.
