Tinubu’s Third Anniversary: Wike Announces 31-Day Project Commissioning in FCT

On Saturday in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, announced plans for a 31-day commissioning of projects across Abuja to mark President Bola Tinubu’s third year in office, saying the exercise will showcase major infrastructure and development projects completed in the nation’s capital.

Wike made the announcement during a political luncheon attended by members of his political coalition and other stakeholders. He said the month-long programme would feature the inauguration of roads, public facilities and urban renewal projects executed under the Federal Capital Territory Administration.

According to the minister, the projects reflect the level of development that has taken place in Abuja since the beginning of the current administration. He credited the progress to the support of President Tinubu and said residents would have the opportunity to see the completed projects during the commissioning activities.

Wike stated that the projects go beyond small-scale interventions and involve major infrastructure aimed at improving transportation, public services and the overall appearance of the Federal Capital Territory. He expressed confidence that the achievements would speak for themselves and demonstrate the pace of development in Abuja.

The former Rivers State governor also used the occasion to address political issues in his home state. He called for reconciliation among political actors and announced his readiness to move past previous disagreements with opponents and former allies.

He urged politicians who had fallen out with his political camp to return and work together in the interest of Rivers State, saying unity and cooperation would be more beneficial than continued political disputes.

Despite extending an invitation for reconciliation, Wike maintained confidence in the strength of his political structure in Rivers State. He said the coalition under his influence remains organised and prepared for future electoral contests.

The minister also warned against attempts by external political interests to interfere in the affairs of Rivers State, insisting that the state’s political future should be determined by its people. He expressed confidence that his political alliance would remain a major force in the state and continue to play a leading role in future elections.

His remarks come as political activities continue to gather momentum ahead of the 2027 elections, with various parties and political groups positioning themselves for upcoming contests across the country.
