Bala Mohammed Visits Makinde Over Oyo School Abduction

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has visited Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde in Ibadan to sympathise with him over the abduction of school children and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area of the state.

The Bauchi governor arrived at Makinde’s private residence on Sunday and was accompanied by political leaders, including members of the Allied Peoples Movement and its national chairman, Alhaji Yusuf Mamman Dantalle, alongside the party’s Bauchi governorship candidate, Dr Yakubu Adamu.

During the visit, Bala Mohammed expressed support for the Oyo State government and families affected by the kidnapping incident. He said the country needs stronger coordination among security agencies and closer cooperation with citizens to improve safety and respond to growing insecurity.

He also called for a review of Nigeria’s security structure, stressing that better collaboration between security operatives and communities would help reduce attacks and abductions.The Bauchi governor linked insecurity to issues such as poverty, weak governance and economic hardship. He urged Nigerians to remain alert and avoid sharing information that could assist criminal groups.

He praised Makinde’s efforts in handling the situation and expressed hope that the abducted pupils and teachers would be rescued safely. Bala Mohammed also used the visit to commend Makinde’s leadership role and described him as a focused and energetic leader working in the interest of his state.

Officials present to receive him included top members of the Oyo State government such as the Secretary to the State Government, Commissioner for Works and Transport, and other senior aides.
