The exchange followed remarks made by Okpebholo during a political gathering, where he criticised Governor Adeleke’s public appearances and leadership style while asking residents not to support him. The governor also urged voters to accept any money offered during campaigns but vote according to their choice.

Shortly after the video gained attention on social media, Davido, who is Governor Adeleke’s nephew, posted an image believed to be Okpebholo’s WAEC certificate on his Instagram story. The singer did not attach any caption or explanation to the post, but many social media users viewed it as a response to the governor’s comments.

The document shared by Davido appeared to contain the governor’s examination grades, including D7 in Commerce, Christian Religious Knowledge, Economics and English Language, E8 in Government and C5 in Mathematics.

Neither Davido nor Governor Okpebholo has issued any further statement on the matter since the social media exchange. As of the time of filing this report, the Edo State governor had not publicly responded to the singer’s post.

The incident has continued to generate reactions online, with many users debating both the governor’s remarks and Davido’s decision to respond by sharing what appeared to be the examination record.
