2027: APC Mobilises Bayelsa East for Tinubu’s Re-election

The All Progressives Congress in Bayelsa State has begun mobilising support in Bayelsa East Senatorial District for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The state APC Chairman, Warman Ogoriba, led the mobilisation effort during a consultative visit by the party’s State Working Committee to APC chieftain and businessman, Dr Kojo Sam, in Okpoama, Brass Local Government Area, on Saturday.

Sam pledged his support for the party’s campaign and said he would work with APC members to secure strong backing for Tinubu across Bayelsa East. He also expressed confidence that the President would receive overwhelming support in the district, particularly among voters in Brass and Nembe Local Government Areas.

The businessman said his relationship with the APC began when the party was formed in 2013. He attributed his continued support to what he considers the party’s political principles and its stated goal of improving the welfare of Nigerians.

Sam also praised Tinubu’s economic policies, saying he believed the reforms were beginning to produce better economic conditions and improve some of the country’s key economic indicators.

He further dismissed efforts by opposition parties to make political gains in Bayelsa East. According to him, the people of Nembe and Brass remained strongly supportive of Tinubu’s bid for another term in office.

During the meeting, Sam also praised the leadership of Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri and APC state chairman Warman Ogoriba. He said their approach to party leadership had helped improve unity and made members feel more involved in the affairs of the party.

The visit was part of efforts by the APC leadership in Bayelsa to strengthen its relationship with influential party members and prepare its grassroots structure for the 2027 elections.

Ogoriba described Sam as an important stakeholder in the party and credited his contributions and support for some of the electoral gains recorded by the APC in the state.

The APC chairman said the purpose of the visit was not only to seek Sam’s continued support but also to appreciate his contributions, sacrifices and efforts toward building the party’s structure in Bayelsa.

He expressed confidence that Sam could help the party mobilise voters throughout Bayelsa East. He particularly pointed to Brass and Nembe as areas where the party hoped to consolidate its support for Tinubu ahead of the presidential election.

Ogoriba said the meeting also allowed the party leadership and its stakeholders to discuss ways of improving the APC’s presence at the grassroots. He said stronger cooperation among party members would be needed to achieve the party’s objectives in the 2027 elections.

The mobilisation comes as political parties across the country intensify preparations for the 2027 general elections. The APC is seeking to build support for Tinubu across different regions, while opposition parties are also working to strengthen their structures and challenge the ruling party.

Sam’s pledge represents his stated political position and expectation of strong support for Tinubu in Bayelsa East. The actual level of support for the President in the district will ultimately be determined by voters during the 2027 election.
