Bashir A. Shaba has stepped down from his role as a Senior Special Assistant to Niger State Governor Mohammed Bago, bringing attention to internal dissatisfaction within the state’s political environment. Along with leaving his government position, he also exited the All Progressives Congress, ending his association with the ruling party in the state.
Shaba submitted a formal resignation letter to the appropriate authorities after reviewing his continued involvement in the administration. He explained that his choice was based on his growing discomfort with how governance is being handled in Niger State and across the country, which he believes no longer matches his personal principles and view of public service.
Following his resignation, Shaba announced his move to the African Democratic Congress. He stated that the party aligns more closely with his expectations for accountable leadership, broader participation, and people-oriented governance. He made it clear that his action was driven by personal conviction and not by any dispute with individuals within the government.
