Rivers APC Leaders Pledge Support to Wike Ahead of 2027 Elections

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State have announced their loyalty to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and expressed readiness to follow his political direction in the lead-up to the 2027 general elections.
The party leaders said they would take guidance from Wike on the state’s political matters and assured that they would act according to his instructions regarding the elections. The declaration was made during Wike’s visit to Ahoada West on Sunday, where he met with local APC officials and community leaders.
The APC chairman in the area stated that the people of the local government would offer full support to Wike because of his past contributions and impact on the community. Similarly, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman in Ahoada West confirmed the minister’s influence in restoring confidence among residents and reaffirmed that the local government would continue to back him in political decisions.
During the visit, the local government chairman described Wike as a key political figure in the South-South region and recognized his efforts in bringing development to Rivers State. The federal legislator representing Ahoada West/Ogba-Egbema/Ndoni constituency also acknowledged Wike’s achievements and said they justified the continued support from the people.
A local group supporting President Bola Tinubu expressed their backing for Wike and reiterated their commitment to the president’s re-election. Wike said the visit aimed to thank the people of Ahoada West for their support in the 2023 general elections and to discuss the future political direction of Rivers State. He stressed the need to correct past leadership choices to restore the state’s reputation and ensure sustainable development, adding that his work as FCT minister was helping to regain national respect for Rivers State.
The minister encouraged the residents to work together toward progress and stated that having trusted leadership would be key to the state’s political and developmental future as the 2027 elections approach.
