LP crisis resolved, party ready for 2027 — Otti

Abia State Governor Alex Otti has announced that the internal problems that affected the Labour Party have been settled, saying the party is now ready to focus on preparations for the 2027 general elections.

Otti made the statement on Friday in Abuja after receiving a free nomination form from the party’s National Working Committee at the Abia State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro. The form was presented by the party’s National Chairman, Nenadi Usman.

Speaking after the presentation, the governor praised the current leadership of the party for handling the disagreements and legal issues that had created tension within the Labour Party in recent months.

He stated that the legal matters and internal disputes that once threatened the party’s stability had now been resolved.

According to him, the party no longer faces any active legal obstacles and can now move forward with plans for future elections without distractions. He also thanked members of the National Working Committee for the support shown to him through the presentation of the nomination form.

Otti assured party leaders that he would remain loyal to the Labour Party and continue supporting its growth and activities across the country. He added that the confidence shown in him by the party leadership would encourage him to continue working for the progress of both the party and the people of Abia State.

The governor also dedicated the recognition to residents of Abia, saying their support has continued to motivate his administration’s efforts in governance and public service.

The development comes at a time when political parties across the country are already preparing for the 2027 elections through consultations, internal meetings, and activities aimed at strengthening their structures ahead of future campaigns.
