NDC primary: Aisha Yesufu calls for grassroots mobilisation

In a message shared on her social media platform, Yesufu addressed party members and supporters preparing for the NDC primary process in the FCT. She maintained that elections are decided by meaningful engagement with people and not by activities carried out online or efforts aimed at damaging opponents.

According to her, building trust with voters requires listening to them, understanding their concerns and showing respect throughout the political process. She said politicians and party members must remain connected to the people they hope to represent.

Speaking further, Yesufu urged registered members of the NDC in the FCT to remain committed to strengthening the party and ensuring candidates who emerge from the process are capable of representing the interests of the people.

She also said voters should no longer make political decisions based on pressure or fear. Instead, she encouraged citizens to act with confidence and support leaders they believe can deliver good representation.


The activist called on her supporters across all 62 wards in the Federal Capital Territory to continue mobilisation efforts ahead of the primary election. She expressed confidence in her camp’s level of preparation and readiness for the contest.


Yesufu maintained that the focus should remain on the primary process and building support at the grassroots level rather than being distracted by political attacks or public narratives.


Her comments come at a time of growing political activity within the NDC as party members and aspirants continue preparations ahead of internal contests linked to the 2027 election cycle.
