The All Progressives Congress (APC) has disqualified one of its aspirants, Engr. Kayode Ojo, from participating in the upcoming governorship primary election in Ekiti State.
The decision was announced by the party’s National Working Committee ahead of the APC governorship primary scheduled for October 27, 2025. The primary will determine the party’s flagbearer for the Ekiti State governorship election fixed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for July 20, 2026.
APC Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Duro Meseko, told journalists in Abuja that Governor Abiodun Oyebanji and Omolayo Oluremi were cleared to contest in the party’s primary election. He explained that the decision followed the outcome of the screening exercise conducted by the committee.
With this development, the governorship race within the ruling party will now be between the incumbent governor and Omolayo Oluremi as the party moves closer to its primary later this month.
The APC leadership said it remains committed to a transparent and credible process as it prepares to select its candidate for next year’s election.
