The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has appointed former Anambra senator, Ben Obi, as the new secretary of its National Convention Organising Committee (NCOC).
The decision followed the defection of Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, who previously held the position, to the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday.
According to a statement by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, the appointment was approved by the National Working Committee (NWC) on Wednesday in Abuja.
The PDP stated that the upcoming elective national convention will take place on November 15 and 16 in Ibadan, Oyo State.The NWC also commended the NCOC, led by Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, for its efforts in ensuring smooth preparations for the convention.
The party urged its members, leaders, and stakeholders to remain united and committed to the success of the event and the overall growth of the PDP.
