Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has described his campaign for a second term as a divine mission aimed at continuing the development and transformation of the state.
He made this known during a campaign rally held in Onitsha South Local Government Area on Tuesday, where he was welcomed by a large number of supporters alongside his deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim.
The event drew residents who came out in large numbers to show their support for the governor’s re-election bid.Soludo told the crowd that his second-term campaign represents a collective effort by the people of Anambra to sustain progress and build on the achievements of his administration.
He expressed gratitude to the people of Onitsha for their loyalty and encouragement, describing the campaign as one that unites the people under a shared vision for a better state.
The governor spoke about the achievements of his government in various sectors, especially in Onitsha South, where his administration built a new specialist general hospital in Fegge and improved the standard of public schools.
He assured residents that more development projects would follow if given another chance to serve.During the rally, several community leaders and residents took turns expressing their support for Soludo’s administration.
They mentioned various programmes that have improved lives in the state, such as the free education initiative, free antenatal and delivery services, and the “One Youth, Two Skills” programme, which has helped many young people gain employment and vocational skills.
Supporters also offered prayers for the governor’s victory in the upcoming election scheduled for November 8, 2025. A cheque donation of ₦20 million was presented to back his campaign efforts.
Soludo, who is running under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), will contest against 16 other candidates from different political parties in the forthcoming governorship election.
