Peter Obi Finally Casts Vote In Anambra Governorship Election

Former Anambra State Governor and presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general election, Peter Obi, participated in the Anambra governorship election on Saturday by casting his vote at Polling Unit 019, Umudim Akasi, Agulu Ward 8, in Anaocha Local Government Area.

Obi, who joined other residents to exercise his civic duty, arrived at his polling unit where voting was ongoing under the supervision of officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission. He interacted briefly with journalists after voting before leaving the area.

The election featured 16 candidates representing different political parties, all contesting to take over from the incumbent governor, Chukwuma Soludo, who is running for a second term on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance.

Voter turnout in several polling units across the state showed a mix of enthusiasm and calm, as citizens continued to cast their ballots to determine who would lead Anambra for the next four years.
