The party declared full support for President Tinubu’s second-term bid during its Stakeholders’ Summit at the APC Secretariat in Oke-Ado, Ibadan. Leaders from across the state agreed that the next election would demand stronger unity, better coordination, and a renewed drive to reach every part of the state.
At the meeting, Senator Teslim Folarin, who serves as the Oyo State Ambassador for the Renewed Hope agenda, explained that the party intends to build on its performance in the last presidential election. He said the target for 2027 is to deliver more votes for Tinubu and ensure that members across wards, units, and communities stay active and connected to the people. He added that internal issues within the party had been settled, and those involved had reached a peaceful understanding.
The summit was attended by several political leaders, including senators, former lawmakers, party elders, and local government chairmen. Many of them noted that they had come together after months of disputes and that the new atmosphere of peace would help the party return stronger ahead of the next election.
During the gathering, the Minister of Power, Chief Bayo Adelabu, said the turnout at the meeting showed that the party had regained order after the 2023 elections. He explained that leaders, executives, and stakeholders were now relating better and working as one. He added that most of the disagreements in the party had been settled and urged those still holding back to join the peace effort.
He stated that if an election were to take place immediately, the party would win with ease because members had now adopted President Tinubu as their candidate for 2027. Other party figures, including Senators Ayoade Adeseun and Fatai Buhari, also asked members to put aside personal issues and work together to support Tinubu.
Former Oyo APC Chairman, Chief Akin Oke, spoke on the renewed cooperation in the party, saying the meeting showed that leaders were now ready to move forward in unity. A member of the House of Representatives, Remi Oseni, explained that the summit aligned with Tinubu’s effort to settle disputes within the party across the country. He stated that those present must return to their areas to inform members that the party had agreed to stand together for the coming election.
He added that if the party continues in this direction, the 2027 election would be easy for the APC in Oyo State.
