The African Democratic Congress began a 90-day nationwide membership mobilisation, revalidation and registration exercise across Nigeria to prepare the party for upcoming internal activities.
The exercise, announced by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, followed decisions reached at a National Working Committee meeting held on November 27, 2025. The programme is aimed at updating the party’s membership register and bringing in new members in all states of the federation.
As part of the plan, the party also released proposed dates for its congresses at the polling unit, ward and local government levels. Circulars issued by the National Secretary, Rauf Aregbesola, stated that these congresses are scheduled to take place between January 20 and January 27, 2026.
The process will lead to the party’s non-elective national convention, which is planned to hold in Abuja in February 2026. Party leaders said the activities are in line with the party’s constitution and internal rules.
The ADC described the membership exercise as a step toward building stronger participation at the grassroots and improving its structure nationwide ahead of future political engagements.
Party officials said the registration and mobilisation drive will involve members and supporters across the country as the ADC prepares for its congresses and national convention.
