The All Progressives Congress in Oyo State has accused Governor Seyi Makinde of paying more attention to political activities than to governing the state.
The party said issues that need urgent attention are not being handled properly because the governor is focused on future political plans.
In a statement released by its Publicity Secretary, Wasiu Olawale Sadare, the party said several challenges in the state have not been addressed. It listed concerns such as insecurity, waste disposal problems, and road accidents, which it believes should have received prompt action from the state government.
The party also referred to a recent road accident in Ibadan where lives were lost, noting that the incident required serious attention from the government. It claimed that instead of focusing on the situation, the governor was involved in political meetings related to the next election cycle.
According to the APC, residents have faced ongoing difficulties in different parts of the state, and the absence of quick responses from the government has raised concerns among observers. The party insisted that governance should remain the priority at this time.
The opposition party then urged the governor to concentrate on his responsibilities and address the needs of the people. It maintained that leadership requires full attention to current challenges rather than future political ambitions.
