2027: Kwara APC Endorses Tinubu, Names Bolarinwa Gov Choice

In Kwara State on Wednesday, a caucus of the All Progressives Congress in Moro Local Government Area declared support for the re-election of Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 and endorsed former state party chairman Bashir Bolarinwa as its preferred governorship candidate.

The decision was announced during a gathering held in Shao, where party leaders, elders, and grassroots members met to discuss political plans ahead of the next general election.

The meeting was convened by Bolaji Afolabi, who spoke on behalf of the group and said members agreed to support Tinubu’s second-term bid based on the direction of his administration since taking office. He noted that recent economic and policy steps taken by the government were aimed at improving the country’s system and creating stability over time.

The caucus also backed Bolarinwa for the governorship race, describing him as an experienced figure with the ability to unite party members across the state. His past role as state chairman of the party and his involvement in political movements within Kwara were cited as reasons for the endorsement.

In addition, the group called on the party leadership to consider Moro Local Government Area for the House of Representatives seat in 2027, stating that the area has remained loyal to the party and has consistently supported its candidates during elections.

The caucus reaffirmed its commitment to the party and pledged to continue working with its leadership at all levels, expressing readiness to support its chosen candidates as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
