Gov Sule presents Wadada as APC governorship choice to Tinubu

In Abuja, Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule presented Senator Aliyu Wadada to Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the preferred governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 elections.

The presentation took place at the Presidential Villa, where the governor formally introduced Wadada as the party’s consensus choice in Nasarawa State.

Sule had earlier announced Wadada as his preferred successor during a meeting with political appointees at the state government house. He explained that the decision followed a long period of consultations that lasted over a year and involved different groups within and outside the state.

According to the governor, the process included discussions with investors, youth organisations, women groups, traditional leaders, party stakeholders, and members of his administration. He said the consultations covered the three senatorial zones in the state to ensure broader input before arriving at a final decision.

The governor stated that the aim was to identify a candidate who can continue the development plans of the current administration and maintain stability in the state. The move is part of early political activities as parties begin preparations for the 2027 general elections.

The presentation of Wadada to the president signals the party’s effort to build support ahead of the governorship race, with internal alignments already taking shape within the state chapter of the APC.
