A human rights activist and active participant of the ongoing #EndSARS and #EndPoliceBrutality protest in Abuja who also sustained injury over the ongoing protest has accused the Inspector General of Police and all the Senior Police Officers in the country of being complicits of the impunity in the Nigerian Police Force, adding that Nigerian peaceful youths will “defend themselves against further attacks by the Northern miscreants sponsored by some clueless Northern elements to disrupt peaceful protesters.”
It was reported that armed suspected Northern thugs invaded the peaceful protest venue at Berger Junction, Abuja, on October 14, 2020 and machetted protesters having destroyed more than 8 vehicles leaving some protesters who sustained injuries to their faith.
Some thugs also invaded the protest ground with machetes, charms, sticks and chased away demonstrators at the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway and Lagos cities.
Demonstrators are calling to totally end SARS, Police Police brutality and to completely reform the Police Force.
Some statements by Comrade Paul read in parts:
“Nigerians are tired of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led ruthless and incompetent government.
“The #EndSARS protest is constitutional, civil and utterly resolute.
“We will resist any further attacks by the Fulani murderous miscreants sponsored by some clueless Northern but Fulani elements to maime and brutalise us for simply protesting and peacefully demanding to absolutely and sincerely end SARS, incessant police brutality and extortion in the country.
“The Police IG and Senior Officers in the force are complicits of the police brutality and extortion in the country.
“They are historically complicits because they keep mum while continuously collecting financial returns from the rank and file officers cum various Divisional Police Officers who boldly delight in shooting defenceless Nigerians dead and extorting money from the people in the roads and streets even when they deceitfully told us that “bail is free”.
“Thousands of innocent and peaceful Nigerians are detained in the police and SARS cells till date while uncountable numbers have been extra judicially murdered and slaughtered in history.
“Nigeria must be restructured to tackle unbridled corruption, lopsidedness, nepotism, clannishness, reckless impunity, police brutality and mindless extortion which is deeply worst in the Buhari-led government”, Njoku, stated.
