Ondo Traditional Ruler Shot Dead by Gunmen

Gunmen have killed Oba Kehinde Falodun, the Alagamọ of Agamọ community in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The incident happened on Wednesday evening at about 7:10 p.m., according to the Ondo State Police Command.

Police said they received information from a community leader that around six armed men stormed the traditional ruler’s residence, forcibly took him from his compound, and fled. The ruler was later found a short distance away with gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.


Officers from the local police division, together with tactical units, quickly mobilized to the area.

Local security outfits, including Atuluse Security, community hunters, and Amotekun operatives, assisted in searching nearby bushes and surrounding areas to apprehend the attackers. Efforts to track down the gunmen are ongoing.


Police stated that monitoring and patrols have been increased to protect residents and prevent further attacks. Citizens with reliable information about the attackers are urged to report to the nearest police station or contact the command directly.


The police assured the public that they are working to bring those responsible for the killing to justice and maintain order in the community.
