APC Releases Revised 2027 Election Timetable and Payment Accounts

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced a revised timetable and schedule of activities for the 2027 general elections. The new schedule includes changes to the screening, primaries, appeals, and other party processes. The party also provided the designated bank accounts for purchasing Expression of Interest and Nomination forms.

This announcement was made by the party’s National Organizing Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, on Monday from the APC National Secretariat in Abuja. The notice also confirmed by the National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, outlines the process in line with Nigeria’s 1999 Constitution, the Electoral Act of 2026, and the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) updated election timeline.

According to the new timetable, the sale of forms will begin on April 25, 2026, and end on May 2, 2026. Completed forms must be submitted by May 4, 2026. Screening of aspirants will take place from May 6 to May 9, 2026, with phases covering various positions including State Houses of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, governorship, and presidential aspirants.

The party also set the dates for screening appeals, which will be held from May 12 to May 13, 2026, for the State House of Assembly and House of Representatives positions.

Primary elections are scheduled to start on May 15, 2026, beginning with the House of Representatives, followed by Senate, State Houses of Assembly, governorship, and presidential primaries. The primaries will conclude by May 23, 2026.

The APC also disclosed the costs for the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for various positions. For example, the House of Assembly Expression of Interest form costs N1,000,000, while the Nomination form costs N5,000,000. The fees for presidential aspirants are set at N30,000,000 for the Expression of Interest and N70,000,000 for the Nomination form.

To accommodate female, youth, and physically challenged aspirants, the APC has offered a 50% reduction in Nomination fees for these groups.

The party has instructed all payments to be made directly to designated accounts at Union Bank, UBA, and Zenith Bank.

This timetable is part of the APC’s preparations for the 2027 elections, as it aims to streamline its internal processes and ensure smooth coordination of its nationwide primaries.
