Kana-Zuru Wins Second Term as Kebbi APC Chairman

The All Progressives Congress in Kebbi State on Tuesday re-elected Abubakar Kana-Zuru as its State Chairman during a congress held in Birnin Kebbi.

The event took place at Goru Bulasa and brought together delegates from the 21 local government areas and 225 wards across the state.

Party leaders, lawmakers, former governors, deputy governors and other stakeholders attended the gathering, which was conducted through a consensus arrangement.

Kana-Zuru secured a second term without opposition as members agreed on a unified list of executives. The congress was described by party officials as peaceful and orderly compared to past exercises in the state.

Organisers said the process reflected cooperation among party members and credited the calm atmosphere to support from Governor Nasir Idris.

Alongside Kana-Zuru, other officials were chosen to serve on the state executive committee. Alhaji Ado-Mudi Augie was elected as Vice Chairman, while Alhaji Saidu Muhammad-Kimba became Secretary.

Alhaji Sahabi Lolo emerged as Assistant Secretary and Alhaji Abubakar Bunza was elected Treasurer. Hajiya A’isha Gunabi took the position of State Women Leader, with Hajiya Jamila Baba as her assistant.

Alhaji Isah Assalafi and Alhaji Lukman Yauri were elected as Public Relations Officer and Assistant Public Relations Officer. Several other members also joined the executive team.

The chairman of the organising committee, Alhaji Attahiru Maccido, said the congress went smoothly and differed from previous ones that had faced challenges. He noted that party members cooperated throughout the process and maintained order.

Governor Nasir Idris commended party members for working together to ensure a calm outcome. He congratulated the newly elected executives and praised the national representatives who supervised the exercise from Abuja.

The Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu, who also attended, said the process showed unity among members of the party in the state.

He pledged continued support for the state government and the party leadership.

In his remarks after being returned to office, Kana-Zuru expressed gratitude to the governor, party leaders and delegates for giving him another term.

He assured members that he would remain loyal to the party and work to strengthen its structure across the state while supporting the government’s programmes.

The congress ended without any recorded disputes, and the newly elected executives are expected to begin work immediately as preparations continue for future political activities in the state.
