FCT Police Begin Three-Month Operation to Curb Crime

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has launched a three-month special operation aimed at clearing out criminal elements across the territory. The initiative, led by the Commissioner of Police, Miller Dantawaye, began in November 2025 and will continue until January 2026.

According to a statement released on Sunday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the operation will involve a joint effort between the State Criminal Investigation Department, the Police Mobile Force, the Counter Terrorism Unit, and other tactical teams. These units will work with the Department of Operations and all divisional police formations to carry out coordinated raids and surveillance activities in various parts of the FCT.

The command said the operation is focused on identifying and arresting criminals operating within the city and its outskirts. Security teams have been instructed to maintain a strong presence in known black spots, criminal hideouts, and vulnerable areas to ensure residents’ safety and restore public confidence.

Commissioner Dantawaye directed all officers participating in the exercise to perform their duties with discipline, professionalism, and respect for human rights. He warned that any form of misconduct or negligence during the operation would not be tolerated.

He also appealed to residents to cooperate with security personnel by providing useful information that could help the police in tackling crime. Citizens were urged to remain alert and report any suspicious activity or movement to the nearest police station.
